Audio synchronization is VERY SLOW

Hello,
Lately, when I use the synchronization tool on Premiere Pro (right clip on the selected audio lip > synchronize), it's very slow. I mean, it took at least 10 minutes. It used to be just few seconds.



Maybe I've changed something in my settings that I'm not aware of... 


Has anyone rune into the same problem and has the solution please?

      Hi Frederik,

      Ten minutes is definitely not normal. I’d be curious about the source media you’re using. Is it camera-original media, or did it come from a streaming service, a screen recording, a download, etc.?


      As a test, try transcoding a couple of the problem clips with HandBrake or Shutter Encoder, then see if Synchronize works faster with those files. If it does, that would point pretty strongly to something about the original media.


      Let us know what kind of media you’re working with, along with your Premiere version and OS.

      Hi Kevin - thanks for reaching out.

      We are shooting on 2 FX6 cameras, one using a boom mic, the other using the onboard mic in a studio (clear audio on both cameras)

      Syncronization: Using track 1, 2 or mix: usually takes about 3-5 minuttes pr clip.

      (no audio-effects applied, only 2 audiotracks present, all empty tracks deleted)

      Files: XAVC-I (intra) .MXF files (4K). 

      Clip lenght: 2 - 30 minuttes, depends - but syncronization is slow either way.

      Peak files: All audio peakfiles are generated beforehand.

      Interpret clip (shift+g): Only using 1 audiotrack pr. clip.

      Premiere version: 26.3.2

      OS: macOS Tahoe 26.6.2

      We are working from a server (connection 10GbE)
