Audio Time Units locks up Premiere

Running Premiere Pro v 24.3 and editing is working fine but when I turn on the Audio Time Units, Premiere becomes unable to play back the sound clips fluidly in the Project Window. 

Turning the Audio Time Units back off does not fix this.  

At this point, Premiere no longer sees any of the changes I make in editing.

If I save and close Premiere and try to open it again, Premiere will not open.  Just the start up screen (white square with image on it) opens and then it sits there and does nothing.

I uninstalled Premiere and then reinstalled and everything worked again.

I tried Audio Time Units again, and same thing happened with Premiere Pro locking up.

This time when I uninstalled then reinstalled Premiere still would not open, just sits there with the white startup screen.

All other Adobe CC programs (Photoshop, AI) are running fine.
