Question

Audio track time changes when moving Premiere Pro CC project between computers

Hi folks,

I'm pretty new to Premiere Pro so I hope I am just missing a simple solution. I am working on a Project Using Premiere Pro CC 2018. I am editing the project on my workstation and my laptop - both have the latest and same version of the software and I have all of files and the project stored on an external hard drive. That hard drive has the same drive letter for each machine so I have no file location errors.

When I build a sequence on my workstation, save the project, and then open it on my laptop, then the master sound track is lengthened by 15 seconds and so all my timings are off. If I build a sequence on my laptop, save the project, and then open it on my workstation, then the master sound track is shortened by 15 seconds and so all my timings are still off. The changes only occur with the one track. I've tried locking the track from making changes but the error still occurs. The only workaround I have found is to manually select all of the clips in the track when opening the project and shifting them accordingly. I hate doing that because 1) it's inefficient and 2) it risks things getting messed up elsewhere within the project.

Can anyone tell me if they have seen this problem before and if there is a fix?

For reference here are my computer specs:

Laptop

Dell Precision 5510

Xeon 1505

16 GB Ram

Nvidia Quadro M1000M

Workstation

Intel i7 920

24 GB Ram

Nvidia Quadro 5000

Thanks,

Erich
