Auto Save Also Saves Current Project(s)

Apparenlty a recent upgrade to Premier Pro CC included a feature in the Auto Save Preference panel that says "Auto save also saves the current project(s)."  The idea here is that, in addition to creating a new auto save project every few minuters, it also  saves and OVERWRITES your current project file as well.

This may seem like a good idea in that it keeps your current project file current.  The problem comes in when you make changes to your current project that you may NOT want to end up saving (or that you later want to SAVE AS so you have alternate versions of the project).  If you hit 'save as' or close your project,  your current project (with the unwanted changes) has already been overwritten if you do that after an auto save has occurred.

I noticed this was happening when I would make some changes that I didn't want to keep, hit "close project" and I wasn't getting the 'Do you want to save changes" dialog box.  As a result, the unwanted changes were now part of the original project file because it had automattically been overwritten when the project auto-saved.

It apprears that the checkbox in the 'auto save' preferences panel for this feature is automatically checked when the upgrade occured.  If this is a problem for you, simple go into the auto save preferences panel and uncheck that box.  That seems to fix the issue for me.

thanks.  Just noticed this myself.  I mainly work in cc2018, but my macbookpro has 2019 installed and a friend has borrowed it.  He seemed somewhat confused about where his project is stored and when I saw this duplicate project in the autosave folder I flipped...
