Auto Save nightmare! I have my auto save set to every 15 mins, but Premiere keeps saving the project, and autosaving, like every 2 minutes! How can I make it stop?

I did some more research.

Project is located on NAS. If I choose “Same As Project” as autosave-Location: It does not work. 

Premiere seems to save the Autosave and a checkmark appears. No error message.

But no autosave file.

When I choose “MyDocuments” as Autosave location, it works. But the autosaves are locally.

Please Adobe fix this. It worked in the past and it must work again.

I found out that Premiere will save a PRLOCK file in the Auto-Save location, but it is gone after a few seconds. 

No Autosave Project file whatsoever. 

It does not affect all projects. Some work fine, others don’t. 

This is really frustrating. We have 25 Premiere seats and ~ 30 projects per day. It’s a support nightmare. 

Hi, same here. Autosave every 3 minutes regardless of what we enter in the settings. 

We also painfully found out that Autosave won’t actually save.

This seems to be the case since Premiere 26.5

Now we use 26.5.2 and it seems *not* to be fixed. 

Is there any official response from Adobe?

I am seeing the same thing: loads of autosaves in a short period of time. I reported this when it was still in beta.

Moreover, while auto-saving in the background, it freezes the program. 

Also often get the autosave panel instead of saving in the background.

Sorry for the frustration. If Auto Save is set to every 15 minutes but is consistently running every couple of minutes, that doesn't sound like expected behavior.

We've seen some other reports of this behavior as well. Could you let us know your exact Premiere version and operating system?

Also, if possible, check the timestamps of the files in your Auto-Save folder. That will help confirm whether Premiere is actually creating Auto Save files every couple of minutes or whether you're seeing another save operation.
