Question

"automate to sequence" with Subclips in bin not respecting in-to-out boundaries

Transitioning from Avid MC. In that system I can create/drag a subcrip from the source monitor into a bin and the new subclip has the boundaries of the in & out I marked.

The same holds true for PP...except...except when I try and "automate to sequence" the conents of the bin. Then it just drops the entire clip for each into the timline without respecting the boundaries. Yet if I drag each clip one at a time? No problem. Tedious amd time consuming though.

What am I doing wrong? Does this function not do what I think it is supposed to?

Same problem here.

i made a Scene detection in a 4 min long clip to extract subclips for each take it has. Then i want to Automate to sequence all this subclips in a timeline where i previously put markers following the rithm of the music, choosing the Put in sequence markers option. It put them there, but the content of each subclip doesn´t correspond to the subclip made. So i end with lots of cuts placed right in the sequence markers but the clips show always the same extract of the master clip repeated. It is as it hasn´t respected the in and out points in each subclip. If i add them manually to the sequence, then they show the right cut, but can´t get the Automate to sequence in markers to work.

Is it there any other workaround im missing or it is just a bug? I have PPro v. 23.1.0 in Windows 10

Hi,

Why using automate to sequence ? This feature is mainly for still picture and slideshow.

Just put all your subclips in a bin. Then 2 options:

1/ You select all your subclips in the bin, right clic and choose " New sequence from clip"

2/ You select the bin and drag and drop on the " New Item" icon on the bottom right corner of your project panel. Done.

Excellent suggestions (and hello again ricklard)

Alas...the results are all the same.

I get a garbled sequence that does not reflect my subclip selections.

Here is my bin of subclips...And above is the resulting sequence if I select all and create a new sequence or drop the bin onto the new icon....super weird.
