Automatically align transcript with track

I am a beginner with Adobe Premiere Pro. Is there a way to automatically align the transcript with the audio track? The transcript has put two words on the first line and continues moving to the second line. If I move the first to words to the second line the track and the transcripts do not align. Thank you

They should be automatically aligned, you have to be careful if dragging that you do not drag away from the aligned keyframes

Welcome to the community! To better understand the issue, we’ll need a few more details. Please let us know the version of Premiere you are using and how the transcript was created (sequence vs. source clip, and whether it’s a static or dynamic transcript)? Is this happening with a specific sequence or project, or with all of them? If possible, please also share a short screen recording of the issue. That will help us guide you with the next steps.

The transcript should always be aligned with the audio in the timeline, assuming you created a source media transcript (from a clip, not a static transcript of the sequence).

Are you sure we are talking about the transcript and not captions? Transcripts generally look like paragraphs, not lines.

A screenshot might help. What version of PR are you using? The latest is 26.5.1.

Hi Stan, thank you for the reply. I have attached a screen shot. There are only two words in the first segment oof the transcript and I would like combine them with the second segment. When I do this, it throws out the alignment of the audio track
