automatically picking up latest versions of QT for edit

Hello,

I work for a small company. Our compositors are publishing through quicktimes which we have an edit set up in Permiere. I would like to be able to procedurally/automatically point the edit at the latest versions on disk. the naming convention is locked down with only the version changing.

Is there a straightforward way of doing this? Or is there a workaround with symlinks (we are on windows, so I guess they are called shortcuts)
