I previously used CS6 for editing my drone videos. I have a variety of cameras & some use AVI format.
Now with CC I cant import these camera footage. Why????
Theres no way i am sitting around converting, stuff I may as well open Divinci & get on with it.

Does Adobe not realise there are many cameras & DVR, dash cams etc using AVI. It may not be a great format, but we absolutely need to have access to it.

Why the F--- has AVI support been removed?

    Hi.

Excuse me, but your information is incorrect.

AVI is a container file, here the problem is what codec contains that avi.

The H264 codec is compatible with MP4 and MOV, not in AVI, for example.

    Hi Juan,

You're excused. As a customer (and I speak for all of us), we don't care about the technical details of the problem. What we care about is meeting our clients' needs, which we were able to do until the changes made in 12.0.1. Are you suggesting this is the customer's problem?

To clarify, I'm speaking of importing, not exporting.

I understand your concern, but this is the same as with the QT legacy codecs.

Of course, but this confuses me, Premiere does not export what it can not import.

I read the comments of the link, and most of them incur the error, saying that it does not support AVI.

If you can import AVI, but it is not compatible with all the codecs that an AVI can contain.

Why the F--- has AVI support been removed? What was the motivation behind this strange decision that has severe consequences for a HUGE portion of Adobe's market? We want answers but more importantly, we want AVI support back.

And who is it that judges what qualifies as the "correct answer"? Because it's not, but hopefully we're getting closer.
