AVI support terribly slow in Premiere?

I have a video clip converted to AVI with the UT codec.
Viewing this file in Premiere is awfully slow (and the file is on HDD).
Can Premiere handle any lossless codec in AVI relatively quickly? Will every AVI file work this slowly?

It should be on a fast SSD.

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

With such work, Premiere would kill my SSD. The processor is Ryzen 5700G. But the problem is that Premiere loads the disk 100% and basically nothing happens for long time. In other programs, jumping to the selected frame is quick, but not on Premiere.
