Question

basic 3D, bug?

Many times I use basic 3D to adjust a video slightly, in the past it all went well. Now I export the videos to after effects, but it must be fixable in premiere?! This is what happens: I put the basic 3d effect on a video. There appear two black bars on the right and left side. When scrolling over the video the sides appear again. Worst thing is the black bars are there in the render as well.. Hope someone has a fix!! (video included)

The issue is the order in which effects and motion settings are applied to the clip. To fix it, set Motion > Scale back to 100, then add a Transform effect above the Basic 3D effect and set its Scale to 50%.

Cannot reproduce on my end. The only thing I find odd is the anchor point.

    To recreate the user’s settings:

    1. Create a Color Matte that’s 5728 x 3024
    2. Add it to a sequence that’s 2560 x 1440
    3. Set the Color Matte’s Scale to 50%
    4. Add the Basic 3D effect and set Swivel -3

The sides the of the Color Matte will be cropped. To avoid this, set the Scale back to 100% and add the 50% scale with the Transform effect before the Basic 3D effect.
