Hello,

In Premiere Pro, how to set the export settings in VBR 2 pass?

My goal is :

- to have the best quality with a low time encoding.

- to have a quality better than VBR 1 pass

@Vishu_Aggarwal

I have a laptop computer with 16 Go of Ram and a graphic card Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M.

My goal is to use an MP4 file coming from streaming, edit it in Premiere Pro and export it to H264 for steaming use.

According to you, what would be the best export settings to use in a such case ?

if your exporting in HECV(H.265) then you would only see the option of CBR & VBR 1, if you are exporting in h.264 then under the bitrate settings you will see CBR, VBR 1 pass & 2 pass.

What they actual do -

CBR = constant bitrate

VBR = variable bitrate (more bitrate when lots of sharp motion, less with static scene)

2 pass =  First pass anylyses how much bitrate needed and second pass renders the video. Needs twice the time to render.

for more information check the following post - https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/difference-between-export-vbr-1-pass-and-vbr-2-pass/m-p/11553650

- to have the best quality with a low time encoding. - Depends on many factors like bitrate settings, use of previews, performance is hardware or software and etc. But setting to VBR 2 pass going to take more time then the VBR 1 pass.

- to have a quality better than VBR 1 pass - In short it really depends on the trageted bitrate you define.
