Best Project Settings for Offline Editing

Hey All,

Can someone tell me the ideal sequence settings for Offline editing in the Unscripted space? I'm more/less needing to know the nuts/bolts to the audio.

 

Music comes in stereo, field audio mono, etc. 

 

I know the settings for when I receive the final stems, it's just the Front session.

HI @Jeremy5E0B,

Thanks for the question. You are wondering how you can set up audio to handle different track types, right? You can create a new sequence and then choose which tracks you want to handle certain track types. Like, you can make it so stereo tracks are on Audio 1. Mono Tracks are on Audio 2, etc. I think you need to find out how your delivery spec needs to be and work backwards from that. I hope the advice helps. Return with any questions.

Hey Kevin,

I appreciate the feedback. What I'm really looking for is "what is the best practice" I guess when editing a sequence. I understand how to change them, etc. I usually come from the OL background, and given stems. I would set up my project MultiAudio and pan my audio sources L/R etc. Is it best practice to edit music in Stereo, then dialogue channels in MONO panned Center? This project isn't 5.1, I know that is whole other thing.

I'm not quite sure. Is the project going to be handed off to an audio-post pro? Can you ask what they would like to have? I can ask around too. Sorry that I don't have a clear cut answer for you.
