Question

Bring in a newer version of a clip ontop an existing one for easy A/B ing?

Say I have a folder with a shot called "myshot_v01.mp4" in it and this shot is edited into my sequence.

I know I can replace this shot and keep the in and out points, but is there a way to bring in the latest version of this shot ie "myshot_v03.mp4" that lives in the same folder, have it with the same in and out points, and put this on the next video layer above the existing "myshot_v01.mp4"?

So I now have my edit with 2 versions of the same shot?

Copy "myshot_v01.mp4 to the next video layer.  Then  replace the copy and keep the in and out points.

Hey there, so I copy my shot to the next video layer, then I right click and replace with clip?

Could you explain the process?

This is also on a shot by shot basis, I was hoping to be able to select multiple clips and bring in the latest version of all of them in one go.

You will have to do them individually.

1) Highlight the replacement clip in the Project Panel.

2) Right click on the clip in the timeline to be replaced.

#) Choose Replace with clip from bin.
