Bug in how to add mask vertices

1. Premiere Pro v24.0.3
2. Windws11 v22H2
3. When manipulating masks in effects, the cursor changes to a pen with a “+” symbol as soon as it is placed on the mask edge.
4. The user guide states that “To add vertices, press the Ctrl key (Windows) or Command key (macOS) while placing the cursor over the mask edge. The cursor changes to a pen with a “+” symbol.”
This is to prevent unintentional addition of vertices.
However, in reality, just by hovering over the mask edge, the cursor changes to a pen shape and unnecessary vertices are added.

I would like the following. "As per the user guide, you cannot add vertices unless you hold down the Ctrl key (Windows) or Command key (macOS) and place the cursor over a mask edge."

Correct answer Ann Bens

Hovering over the mask edges does not add a vertex unless you press your mouse.

Holding Ctrl changes the add vertex in a minus vertex.

It's possible to accidentally click an edge while moving the mask one frame at a time.
If tracking doesn't work, move it manually.
