Can I rescue a movie clip from my camera? Plays in camera but shows 0 bytes on disc.

I have an MP4 movie stored on my Canon M50 camera that will play on the camera but will not play when downloaded. It shows a length of 0 bytes. I suspect it reached the 30-minute recording limit my camera places on videos and somehow failed to "finish" the file. Maybe missing an EOF character?

Is there anything I can do to this file to make it readable on my PC? This is a procedural video, and it's possible for me to go back and restore my project to the state before this video, then re-record it. But that would be kind of time-consuming. Is there a quicker way?

Your help is very welcome!

If you download a video from your camera, and it shows 0 bytes in length and will not play. There is a free solution, though maybe not the best. You can download VLC software. I had two bad files. It restored the video portions but not the audio.

There's another software, Recoverit. The free version will only handle files up to 100 MB. Their paid version will handle larger files, though I don't know how good a job it does.
