Can I run latest Premiere on Windows 7 (with CS5)

Hi

I've been running Premiere within CS5 on Windows 7 for some years and editing with footage from latest camcorders causes stuttering in playback.

I'm thinking of going for latest Premiere and downloading online.

Will it run smoothly with Windows 7 Pro?

Will I be able to retain CS5 and run Photoshop from there?

System details are:

Processor:       Intel® Core ™2 Quad Q8200 @2.33 GHz 2.34 GHz

RAM:               4.00 GB

System:           64 bit

Running on Windows 7 Pro

Can I run a trial of latest Premiere and choose to stay with CS5 if its a no go or update system if required?

    it won't work perfectly if you do not add your RAM to 8GB as minimum requirement even if you have Widows 10

    Also the processor should be upgraded

    What about your graphics card ?


    It sounds like I need to upgrade to a new system to let Premiere work best

    02. Better upgrade to an i7 processor

    02. Minimum RAM should be 8GB and up... 16GB is good

    03. Windows 7 better have Pro' or 'Ultimate' with service pack 01 (service pack 01 is very important)

    04. Check for compatible GPUs with CC 2018 on Adobe site

    05. no problem if you have CS5

    Yes you can run Premiere Pro CC 2018 latest on Windows 7 but with service pack 1... visit the link to find all the details related to system minimum & recommended requirements  - Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements

    Thanks for that. I’ve gone ahead and tried downloading the trial of Premiere.

    Of course i’ve Come up against the problem with missing Dolby sound so am now trying downloading 2017 version which should let me try editing.

    If all goes well I may have to download Windows 10 to get sound with latest Premiere - I believe there is a fee to upgrade to Windows 10

    Sure but your system is too low so stick with the cs5 until you can get an i7
