Can't ease in/out shape path

I'm fairly new to Premiere Pro and I'm trying to change the temporal interpolation of the keyframes for a shape's path. When i select the keyframes and right click, I can see the options to change to but they are grayed out and cannot be clicked. Also, Linear is already checked but like I said I cannot change off of it. All help is greatly appreciated!

You cannot change the interpolation for mask keyframes.

Another work around is retiming the clip around the keframes. Works well with static images and graphics etc. not so much for video, though you could nest then invert the retimning maybe...

I have found a workaround. If you add one or two additional keyframes between the first and last keyframes, by adjusting the shape to the exact point you'd like it, it works. Not the best, but worked for me.

Thank you for the quick response! Is there any workaround or other method I could use to achieve the same thing?
