Can't export to 1920x1080 unless I set it to Square Pixels

Premiere and Media Encoder both export to 2800x1080 when I try to export to 1920x1080 and DV/NTSC 16:9. If I set the aspect ratio to square pixels, it works, but then there's a black box around the video.

The clips I'm using are native 1920x1080. I've attached an image of my export settings. It's H.264, resolution is set to 1920x1080. A few weeks ago, this was working just fine. Now it just doesn't. I've tried new projects, I tried reinstalling Premiere. Nothing seems to work except square pixels, which I do not want.

Last week, it was exporting to 2327x1080, this week it's 2800x1080. Has anyone else had issues like this?

Export and sequencing settings attached as images.

Correct answer Averdahl

Set the Pixel Aspect Ratio on your sequence to 1.0.

Thumb of rule, always match the sequence settings to your source footage and match the export to that as well.

Thank you so much, this nailed it exactly. I'm somewhat new to Premiere after having a few years off editing and using Final Cut then.

This is exaclty my issue and it works now. Thank you!

Premiere is no different from FCP when it comes to pixel aspect ratio.

HD is always 1.0.

DV 1.2 is a SD setting.
