Can't get any Adobe video apps to open without crashing

My Photoshop, Illustator, InDesign etc. all work fine.

I cannot get Premiere Pro or Media Encoder to work. They both crash after/during the splash screen.

I have tried all of the suggested fixes - log out and back in, all updates, uninstall and reinstall, previous versions etc. and run the cleaner, wiped every Adobe file on my PC and they still won't work.

I wonder if there is a codec issue as it is only the video apps that won't work.

There is a non Adobe DLL common to all coming from C:\PROGRA~2\BLACKM~\BLACKM~1\BMCOD~4.DLL

Can you remove that and check?

Yes. Especially preferences. I've seen problems in other software when it tries to open 'recents' and there are drives missing or files deleted or missing. It's worth a shot. Usually the cleaner is helps with that.

Are you Win or Mac? PP 24.0?

Most likely a codec issue would be one you installed. Did you try holding down shift as you start PP, you'll get some options there to clear things... give a those a try.
