Can't import m2t files or close Premiere Pro since 25.3 update

I upgraded from version 25.2.3 to version 25.3 yesterday.  I can no longer import m2t files, which I have been importing for YEARS.  I also cannot close Premiere Pro; I have to use task manager to get out of it.

Needless to say, I have gone back to Premiere Pro 25.2.3 for now.

Windows 10 with latest updates

NVidia GTX 1070, Driver Version 572.83

Ok, here is what I've done since my last visit:

Added an external Samsung T9 External SSD.  It's connected via USB3.  I have no USB-C connectivity on my editing machine.  It contains footage only.

Dedicated one of my internal SSD drives to be used for Adobe cache files, databases, etc.

Tried latest version of Premiere (25.5).  STILL having issues with slow response and timeline lagging.

Went back to 25.2.3.

I have no ide what to try next.  Getting really, really frustrated since I can't use latest features.

Ok, this should be the end of this discussion.

I didn't want to give up so I once again installed the latest Premiere, version, 25.5.

Next step was trancoding all of the m2ts files (3) for my usual multicam edit.  For this I used the ingest feature in Premiere.

Glad to report that Premiere is working better than it ever did when I used proxies.  I still don't know why I couldn't edit smoothly once I upgraded to 25 but I am happy that I can use the latest version of Premiere.  Thanks to all who offered assistance.

Have a blessed day!

Hi lockhartgary,

We're sorry to hear about this. Would you mind sharing a download link to the sample M2T media with which you are experiencing this issue? It will help us diagnose the issue properly. Also, are you getting any error codes/messages when you are trying to import M2T media?

Thanks,

Sumeet

Thanks for sharing the sample media. The file imported on our end, but there is a known issue where the audio from MTS/M2T files can have noise in v25.3. We're currently investigating this issue & will try our best to get it sorted as soon as possible. For the time being, we recommend using Premiere Pro v25.2 as a workaround. We will update this thread once the issue has been addressed.

Regards,

Sumeet

I tried the reset preferences and it did no good.  Going back to 25.2.3.
