Can't Merge Clips Split Due To Fat32 4gb File Size

When shooting on a 5D Mark IV, if you're shooting more than 4 minutes, the video is split into multiple files-  Cool- After syncing those files with plural eyes, no problem-

Now as I try to "merge clip" with the sync audio and the video in 2 separate clips, it will not.  Can you not get a merged clip if the video file is split into two?  I'm sure I can nest the two clips, add the audio and merge that clip, but I want to stay away from nests. 

Any ideas?

    Formatting with exFAT in Mac OS solved the problem.  I had no issues reading the card afterwards,  Thanks for your help, I think that's the easier and best way to solve the problem.  It'd be great to have another way to merge them in premiere, as I can see that being an issue with something else, but I'll gladly take this.

    I would suggest you to format the SD card to exFAT format which will allow you to store more than 4GB of data in a single file.

    To import Camera split clips you can use Premiere pro Media browser to import the files into the premiere pro, Media browser should show the clips as one video clip instead of multiple video clips spilt by camera - read more about it here - Merging Files Split By Video Camera

    If you have already imported the media and formatted the media card than best solution seems is nesting the clips.

    After reading that article, it seems the only way to format the card to exfat is to have a CF card that is 128gb or over?  Unless I can format the card with exfat on the computer, although I've never heard of that.  I'll give it a go.

    In terms of importing with media browser, I'm syncing in pluraleyes first, then importing.  Using media browser would be difficult in that situation.

    Are you trying to save the merged clips onto the camera's memory card? If the card that you're using is 32 GB or smaller, it would always be formatted as FAT32, which cannot handle file sizes larger than 3.99 GB. If you want to merge clips, you must first copy all of the contents of that memory card onto your computer's hard drive or SSD, then work on the copies of those files.

    No, I'm referring to when everything is already on the timeline.  After audio has been synced with the clips.  Here's the workflow: Offload 4k footage.  Sync footage with pluraleyes.  Import footage into Premiere.  Sort footage with sync audio into takes.  Merge clip with the takes.  However, when you're working with clips that have been split due to file size, you cannot merge clips.

    Sorry for the confusion and thank you for the reply.
