Can't modify essentials graphic text

Hello , i have gone to the GRAPHIC menu, and choose an animated text.

Now i want to change the text, so i take the T tool and click on the text to modify in the program monitor, But it just don't work, everytime i click it adds a new text layer...

Can't figure out how to solve this

Using the T tool, that's the tool to create text, not to modify it.

 

To modify text, you need the selection tool active (the V key gets it) to select the text either on the Program monitor or in the layer stack of the Essential Graphics Panel or the Effects Control Panel. Then use the modification tools in that panel to do your modifications.

i switch to EFFECT workspace and then i could change...then i could change in GRAPHIC also..strange
