Can't play timeline while on Google Meet

Hey folks, pretty strange issue here. 

I'm on Premiere 24.1.0, using a Macbook pro Apple M2 Max on Sonoma 14.2.1. For some reason, whenever I'm on a Google Meet I cannot play back my timeline in real time. It stutters and goes back and forth a handful of frames, slowly edging forward on the timeline. Obviously not great as I can't share my screen during client reviews. 

To clarify, this is not just while I'm sharing my screen, this is an issue whenever I am on Google Meet. 

Any thoughts?
