Question

Can't resize mask with SHIFT+drag any longer

I've already filed a Bug Report, however maybe someone here has a workaround.

The issue: in the past we were able to proportionately resize a mask by holding down SHIFT-key and click-dragging one of the small rectangular handles on the edge of the mask. Doing this would make the mask smaller or larger, but retain the mask's SHAPE.

This is no longer the case with CC 2018. In fact, holding down Shift-key and dragging does nothing at all. Now we have to resize the mask manually and then work on getting the original shape back. This takes forever and is very inaccurate.

Anyone have a workaround?

NOTE: I've only tried this with a mask on Gaussian blur. This issue may or may not occur with other masks.

System: Win 10 Pro, Intel i7-5960X (not overclocked at this time), 64GB DDR3, GPU: NVIDIA Titan X, All-SSD 5 disk setup (dedicated OS, media cache, deliverables, sources, grab files, etc)

The inability to use "Shift+Drag on a mask direct manipulation point for resizing a mask path" is a known issue and the Premiere Pro development team is working on a fix for it. Using the Mask Expansion control for managing the mask path resize is the suggested workaround. The Mask Expansion property can be edited using the direct manipulation control or by editing its property value in the Effects Control Panel.

Have you looked at the keyboard shortcut dialog to see whether this is still set for that or has been changed?

Edit/keyboard shorts?

It's not, but it's also not a keyboard shortcut. It's just general functionality that is lacking.

Trying out several masks just now, there's a mask size control that's the same in all of them ... the little diamond on the line that goes to the upper right typically as you load a mask. The diamond controls the size, and the circle at the end controls feather. The main shape of the mask stays the same size, but note where I've got the little red dash? That's right below the mask size control, and basically sitting on the added circle that is the actual mask size at the moment. The dotted lines are the feather locations, inner & outer.

The heavy blue line in the center still shows the shape, but not the applied size of the mask anymore.
