Can't see thumbnails in timeline.

I’m running Premiere in macOS Big Sur (v. 11.2.3). Suddenly, in the app, I can no longer see the thumbnails of my clips in the timeline of any sequence. This is the case with all sequences across different Premiere projects. This has never happened to me before.

I tried clicking on the hamburger menu for a given sequence, then selecting each of the three options for the display of thumbnails (e.g., Video Head Thumbnails), but that didn’t change anything. I just updated to the latest version of Premiere (15.1.0); still no resolution.

What happened and how do I resolve it?

Hi, Ann. Looks as if resetting the preferences (your first suggestion) worked. I can see the thumbnails again. Thanks very much.

There are a few other issues I have since my upgrade to macOS Big Sur, none related to Premiere. I’m trying to avoid a clean install.

You can also try resetting the workspaces:

Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

Not sure what is going on but if Premiere is acting up:

Thanks, Ann. I’ll try that. Anyone else have any suggestions or experiencing the same issue?

This never happened until after I upgraded to the latest versions of macOS and Premiere. Very weird.

Both might need a clean install?
