Can't update CDL values?

Question

Hey everyone,
I've been working with some CDL-based workflows recently, and while the initial import works perfectly (ALE with CDL imported from Davinici Resolve) and the CDL values apply correctly via the ASC effect, I've run into an issue when trying to update those values.
If I go to Clip > Update Metadata, the CDL values don’t seem to update along with the rest of the metadata. Is this expected behavior? Or am I missing something?
 
Would be great to know if updating CDL is possible as it would make colour workflow much easier.

CDL (color decision list) workflows are kinda of old, and never were updated. So the whole thing just kinda got ignored.

Now with the ACES process ongoing, there is another effort to get the CDL stuff updated. But so far, Premiere doesn't have any changed CDL processes. And yea, it has no way to refresh the data as Mike noted.

I'm keeping watch over any major changes in CDL "standards" ... which aren't moving that much, truth be told. But maybe some progress is going on, there's been enough talk about a couple groups working on it that at some point there should be updated usability.

When we'll see any of this make it into Premiere is a nobody knows thing though.

I've never really tried this workflow into Premiere but I did find a post on LiftGammaGain which says:

"One thing with CDL in Premiere is that the CDL values in the metadata are not directly linked to the CDL plugin.
The CDL plugin seems to get the values from the matadata when the first ALE is imported, but later updates to CDL metadata will not update the plugin."

So unless anything has changed, I think it's a one-time thing.
