Can't Use Keyboard Shortcuts in Essential Graphics Text

For some reason I've lost the ability to use keyboard commands while editing text in Essential Graphics. The common ones I use are ctrl + A to select all text, ctrl + v to paste text from an external source. This behaviour only started with a recent update to 14.5.0 build 51.
