Question

Can you export from CC 2017 to Media Encoder CS6?

Hi, curious if this can be done. My first experience with Encoder CC, packaged with PPro CC 2017 was horrifically slow. I researched and discovered many others complaining of this problem coming from CC 2014. I came directly from CS6 and, exporting the same type and length videos I always have, it now takes hours and used to take much less time.

If you hit Queue in the PPro export, it auto opens Encoder CC. Wondering if I can use the old CS6 Encoder.

Thanks for letting me know if this is possible,

Sean

Sadly no. Your only bet is to simplify your timeline to one video track, export as XML, then import that into Premiere CS6 and send it to AME CS6 through that.

edit: I may be confusing XML with EDL, you may not have to reduce to one video track, but most effects will not carry over.

Ben, thanks for the reply. Since you didn't mention it being unique to me, I assume everyone using CC 2017 is experiencing the new, slower export time.

What's your hardware? The newer 2017 version does need more "oomph" to stay 'happy' while working ...
