Can you nest a multi-cam sequence?

I have a big concert with 20 cameras, my client wants to do a pass/edit with half of the cameras and then bring in the other 10 and add them to the first edit.   Once I have the first multi-cam sequence cut, can I nest it with another multi-cam sequence?   Also, I'm using proxies if that matters. 

 

Any insight would be helpful.

How do you add a second page?  And what do you mean by "cut between them manually"?   When merging the two sequecnces.   Just put one in the source monitor?   Thanks again


Sorry for the delayed reply. I was on a vacation - and actually managed to stay away from my computer. 🙂 

You can manage "pages" by clicking the Settings menu button (wrench icon) in the Program Monitor, and choosing Edit Cameras.

What I meant by cutting manually was to put both sequences into the edit sequence and cutting holes in the upper one to see the lower one. Sorry about the bad explanation.

But you could also nest them (in the right-click menu), enable multicam on the nested sequence (in the right-click menu) and cut between them using multicam cutting. This is my preferred method.

Yes, it's possible to nest multicams, but it can lead to some audio routing issues if you don't pay close attention to tracks etc 

 

I would rather use the built-in Pages option in the Multicam View. 

 

Put half of the cameras in Page 1, and the rest in Page 2. Duplicate the Multicam, and edit one showing Page 1 , then the other one showing Page 2.

 

Use track targeting to choose which multicam to show in the Multicam View.

 

After this there are different options for merging the two edits, but most people just cut between them manually.
