Can you pin a 2d image over a 360 video?

Hi, I am looking to pin a 2d image into the bottom left corner of the screen for viewers of the 360 video to see a stationary aerial view of the area being filmed. Is there a way to do this and if so how is it done? We are exporting the videos into a h.264 format.

Do you mean you want the 2d stationary view to stay in the bottom corner continuously, whilst the viewer is able to pan around the view? I dont belive this would be possible without some sort of specific player that had this functionality built-in. Essentially you would have 2x video streams, one for the 360 and one for the 2d which would need to be composited realtime onto your interactive 360 video. I'm not aware of a player that does this, but I can't say I've ever looked.

You could comp your 2d view onto your 360 video so it will move around along with the 360 when you pan, but (correct me if Im wrong) I don't think this is what you want.

Hi Mike, Thank you for your response. Unfortunately as you mentioned that is not quite what I had hoped. I understand that there would be 2x video streams so I was trying to get around that. Do you know if there is a way to "Lock" the screen for the viewer? this was another Idea I had in the sense that I could Force the user to be unable to move the screen for the first 5 seconds (Where I would input the 2d image) and then "Unlock" the screen again to allow for the users to move around again within the 360 video. Have you ever heard of something like this before? Thank you again for your response

This functionality would be entirely dependent on the interactivity of the viewer/player. You won't be able to do this on Youtube for example. I'm not sure if there is some specific 360 player that would allow this.
