Can you switch between windows 10 & windows 11 machines for Premiere projects

Hi everyone

I have been working on my Windows 10 desktop machine for a year, no problems. I recently purchased a laptop that came with Windows 11 and needed to work on a project while there was a power outage. I worked on it no problem but when I went back to using my desktop(Win10), the project and all auto-save files wouldn't open. I got the error, "File is damaged" meaning the 2 hours spent working on laptop was lost.

My questions:

- Is there a known incompatibility between the versions of windows that I cant switch between the 2?

- Should I purchase windows 10 for my laptop.

- What else can I try so that I won't have this issue in future?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated

  1. No, there is no incompability regarding Win 10/Win 11 with Premiere Pro.
  2. No, there is no need to buy and install Win 10 on your laptop.
  3. Since the issue it happened when you got a power outage, buy a UPS and connect the computer/s to it to prevent it from happen again with a new power outage.

No I meant I bought the laptop to be able to work also on the go, ie to go to clients. I need to be able to use both machine.

My project wasn't interrupted or damaged because of lose of power, I had already shut down desktop and moved to laptop.
