Cannot animate mask by dragging but can by changing the path coordinates?

Question

I try to animate a mask by enabling animation on the mask path, then move to a different time and move the mask to a different place. A new key frame should be generated but nothing. I can explicitly create a new keyframe by clicking the diamond between the two arrows, but that still won’t animate the mask, even though there are two keyframes, they have no effect other than changing the time on the timeline.

The only way I can make it work is to not move the mask by dragging, but by changing the numerical x and y position.

What might I be doing wrong?

Which version of Premiere are you using? The specific detailed number version ... like 26.2.1 or whatever ... as that can make a big difference.

Next, if on the newer version with the new masking system, have you read the full documentation? As if not, you need to, in order to use the newer system as designed.

Past that, I’m not at the computer at the moment so I can’t check this out myself. But up to now I’ve not had a problem ... ;-)
