Question

Cannot create captions from imported corrected transcript

Hello. I was having problems generating captions from an imported corrected transcript. Eventually, it worked, but not on the first attempt. Here is the process I followed:

1. Generated a transcript from my sequence.

2. Exported the transcript to a text file that I could correct.

3. Imported the corrected text file into the transcript.

4. Selected create captions.

5. The result brought up one caption block and failed to create the rest.

Then, without restarting the program, I tried creating captions using just the automatically generated transcript (did not import a corrected transcript) and it worked correctly and generated captions for my entire sequence, as expected.

Again, without restarting the program, I repeated steps 1-4 above. This time the captions were created for the entire sequence and not just the first caption block. Is there a solution that will create captions from a corrected transcript on the first try? Thanks.

Thank you for your response. I am working in the 2024 version. After
restarting the program again, I was able to get it to work correctly. I
produce a daily broadcast that requires captions, so I am using this
feature often. For the most part, it is working correctly. However,
sometimes the corrected transcripts are not imported on the first try. I am
able to resolve the issue when I go through the process again. It’s a
minor, occasional issue, and generally the new captions feature functions
well.

@MSH198044,

Generally, this works correctly the first time.

When there is a problem, it is likely due to a formatting error in the corrected file.

You don't say what version you are working in. It does work better now than in the first versions it was available.
