Cannot drag and drop to timeline

With the new version, I cannot drag and drop certain clips into my timeline. Last time I opened it it was possible, with the same clip, but now there is just this round stop icon. The sound works though. I have version 23.2.0 and am running Mac OS Ventura.

I started having a lot of lag with drag and drop like two months ago, (I could not even drag and drop any music or SFX) and then I uninstalled it all together. It helped, but now the problem is back.

With the update, it is then the problems have occured. I cannot go back since my workfile is in the new version. I have tried to reach out to the support, but it is just a loop of getting to the same page. Seems like the chat support from Adobe is gone all together.

I'm considering now switching from Premiere to Avid, since this is just not working and the new version is also super slow. But I am currently working in a project that I need to finish, and this just sucks so much. Can someone help me?

This is almost always because you don't have track targeting set.

Look at the very far left of your Timelne panel, you have a blue block for the audio track the audio comes in on ... but you don't have a blue block set on the video tracks above. Hence Pr thinks you're tellling it audio but no video.

Click on the gray area above the blue audio block for the video track you want to use.
