Cannot edit captions

Hi,

I thought this bug had gone years ago but obviously not. I have tried editing the text of a transcription and also tried it in the captions window but to no avail. 

Every time I click out of the text box, it reverts back to the original. I tried hitting return to define that I had made a change but no luck. 

There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when this happens. It is not a consistent bug. Sometimes it works on a project, but on another project it wont.

Running Mac Sonoma 14.2.1 / premiere 24.1.0 (Build 85) on M1 silicon
