Cannot see audio waveforms on nested sequence

I have a mp4 file which is dropped into a sequence.

I can see the audio waveform as expected.

I then dropped this sequence into another sequence.  When I'm in the parent sequence, I cannot see the Waveform of the nested clip.

I don't know why this is happening?  Any ideas on how to get it to show up?
