Question

Cant Click on Anything in Premeire

Latest version of Premiere as of the time of writing this

Windows 11

Nvidia 4090

128 GBS of ram

SSD storage with all the space I need on dedicated internal drives

Premiere will, out of the blue at times but specifically after saving my work become non-clickable, the program is running fine per my task manager however I am unable to click anywhere in Premiere and have to force quit and reopen the program, this has resulted in corrupted autosave/recovery files and lost work, saving the project file to the existing project file and saving as a new version both seem to be common triggers for this, it's severely impacting my workflow.

Things I have tried that have not solved the problem,

- There are no nest audio sequences so that's not the issue

- I've turned the waveforms on and off several times to no effect

- The problem doesn't seem to exist Premiere Beta, which is a trade-off as Premiere Beta has a recurring audio i/o error I can't seem to shake

Anyone have any ideas? I'm up against a deadline and I'm kicking myself for not switching to Resolve a year ago.

Do you have more than one monitor attached? Do use one screen that's higher res, then use a lower res screen, causing the problem. I haven't seen this around much, just locking one out from clicks. Can you press ESCape and continue? Or Enter or ctrl-w?

Is it possible some modal window is open but off-screen? I would say delete your preferences and media cache. Hold down shift as you start PP, chose those options...

It's the behaviour that would be expected if it was the case but there is no visible window open, I have encountered this on all Beta and the Mainstream Release builds of Premeire, resetting preferences has been done mutiple times in both to no effect. The problem tends to occur around saving or importing files but will occasionally occur out of the blue.
