Question

Caption workflow is a complete nightmare. How do you fix it?

So 1st: captions are not able to be deleted from a Premiere Pro file. If you create a transcript with captions, you can’t delete it, and you’ve ballooned your project file size by hundreds of MBs. You’re screwed.

2nd: Captions are absolute dog sh8t in their translation from audio to text. I have a studio, windless set up, with lapel microphones on two speakers. Premiere can’t even manage to write the sentence in any of the sentences. I’d argue that there is a 90% error rate in transcription. Garbage. Absolute trash.

3rd: To repair the garbage trash transcription that bloats my software, I have to go into the Text window, tab to enter the script, enter to work the characters, and then tab to exit the script. That immediately forces me out to the timeline again, and to change the next sentence I have to move my mouse and get back into the window. This might be feasible if the error rate wasn’t blowing the roof off at every other sentence +90%. Absolute. Garbage. Trash. Software.

I hate this software. I hate paying for this software. I hate the priorities of the development team.

How do I fix or make this process more efficient? Because god knows Adobe employees don’t give a damn.

I genuinely need to delete the transcript off this project file, how do I do that? I can’t even edit on the program anymore. Anyone have ideas?

My 25MB file has ballooned to a 165MB file due to transcription.

I can’t actually operate the software at all because the transcript for a 15 minute interview is so bloated my M3 Pro Max can’t manage it. Great job Adobe!!!!!
