Captioning Issues

Hello. I am using the Open Caption feature on Premiere. Whenever I select a certain font style (I.e Helvetica Bold, Helvetica Light) only one style is used and won't let me select the other. Also, the text won't align as I select it to. Any ideas?

Font support in captions is difficult to predict. Some font families (e.g. Arial) have support for many options (Bold, Bold Italic, Italic, etc) and others only Regular and Bold. In the latter case, you may find that there is no italic support.

Some fonts just never show up in the Caption Panel, even though they are available in the graphics text.

And for others, adding an edge may result in losing italics that were already there.

I can't test Helvetica (not installed for me).

The alignment issue looks like a problem I reported in a different thread:

If you want captions in the bottom middle, before adding more captions, select the middle bottom box in the 9 box grid. Or if you have several captions already, shift click to select all captions in the Caption Panel, and select that grid box.
