Captions not showing after changing Sequence resolution

Im pretty new to Premier Pro and just wanted to add simple captions. They worked as expected until I manually change the sequence resolution to match the clips I have. Do I have to change some settings in the captions to see them again, or what could be the root of this issue? When I change the resolution back they appear as normal...
