capture format unavailable in premier pro

Hello All,

I am attempting to capture miniDV tapes with Premier pro version 23.2.0 build 69 on my Mac with Ventura OS version 13.0.1. I am using a Sony DCR-TRV22 camera connected via firewire. I can use the premier capture controls to pause and play the camera itself, though no video or audio show in the capture window. I also am unable to choose a capture format (DV or HDV), as the dropdown menu is grayed out. The firewire works within iMoive, but I cannot get it to work in premier. Even an adobe agent with remote access was at a loss. Please help of you can. Thank you!
