CC 2018 absolute catastrophy with cc2017 projects

We should've know better, but After Effects updated automatically so we had no other choice but to upgrade to cc2018

Ever since, if we work in 2017 project, Premiere Pro crashes when I import ANY file, or when I cut down something from the source monitor.

I have tried:

- Uninstalled and installed CC18

-Emptied Media Cache

-Older Auto Saves

-(Obviously) Restart

-Import Current Project into New Project -> Crash

The new version managed to stop the workflow of an entire company, why do you release this in this awful state?

    Thanks everyone for trying,

But nothing works, it works fine on new projects, but I guess the lesson is to never update a current project.

I'd love for Adobe to take a year time out from Updates and actually FIX the issues with this software.

Premiere Pro can do everything, but then it crashes.

I find it interesting that my PPBM project timelines which were developed back in the days of Premiere Pro CS5 runs flawlessly in all the CC versions so it is the new features that have been added that are causing the problems.

You've tried some things that often work.  It sucks that none of them have.  Here's a list of other things you can try.

    After Effects updated automatically

None of the CC programs update automatically.  Updating is always manually initiated.

Someone at the office pushed that blue Update button.  (And it would seem without testing it first.  Might want to track down who and have a chat.)

I guess the obvious solution is to roll back to previous versions

Not that obvious, because we've been working with no problems with a converted project yesterday, we'd lose an entire day of post-production by 5 people..
