Question

Certain timeline clips appearing zoomed in program monitor

Some of the clips in my timeline are appearing dramatically zoomed in on the program monitor beyond what I've manually adjusted them to in sequence settings.  Could I have toggled some kind of zoom to fit button for these clips some how, like in their respective lane in the timeline hit a zoom button or something?

This is a 4k video that I have proxied that is giving me other performance issues as well.  I'm wondering if this new fun quirk to the editing is related to my other issues described (and still not resolved) hereRe: Save timeline assembly for butchered project to start over with new proxies?

sharing screenshots would be extremely helpful to all of us.

your screenshots must show us your sequence settings, original clip properties,

your timeline and the effect controls panel. Tell us more about your proxies, what settings did you go for.

Mainly, your sequence settings must match those of your clip, so if it is 4K the sequence settings must be 4k...

now if you right click on your 4k clip and choose 'scale to frame size' that would get rid of the zoomed in stuff,

but might not be the perfect solution, since you have proxies, mismatched sequence settings and clip size...

    Couple possible issues --

    • Have you tried selecting clips and checking in the Effects panel for the Scale setting of the clips?
    • Is it possible the sequence frame size is much smaller than the video or still images? For example, when I make a regular HD (1920x1080) sequence and drop some stills into it, the stills appear highly zoomed because their image size is greater than 4000 pixels wide vs. the 1920 pixels video frame size.
