change to captions workflow since 2021 deletes captions from outdated project.

I did a quick test opening a PR 2020 (2020.9.0) project with 2 "open caption" caption tracks in PR 24.3. It made the conversion okay. Before I test further, let me clarify your issues and goals.

True. There may be workarounds. Are you trying to edit this project further, burn more than one track to the video, embed/export sidecar or what?

When you say "were placed ...past 2021," do you mean if you add captions in the versions with the new caption workflow the first ones are missing? Are these imports from srt's?

I don't know what changed between PR 2021-2023 to PR 2024 that might account for that. As I said, a 2 track project created in PR 2020 opened with both tracks in PR 2024.3.
