Changed OBS settings and now playback in premiere lags and has red frames

I recently changed my OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) settings, and now when I try to edit videos that I've recorded after the change in settings, playback is extremely laggy/jumpy, and I'll get random red frames. I've tested it with older footage and playback works as it should.

Here are my new OBS settings:

- Changed Downscale filter from Bicubic to Bilinear

- Changed encoder (for streaming) from Software (x264) to Hardware (QSV)

- Set process priority to "Above normal"

These seem like they would not affect the playback in premiere at all, but that is all that is different about my most recent footage. All I can think of that may affect it is the renderer or the FPS but I haven't changed either of those. Maybe it has to do with the way those settings interact?

I appreciate any help!

Hi caelangm,

Mobile-phones, web-cams & screen capturing apps often use Variable Frame Rate recording, which is not supported for use in Premiere Pro. Many users also experience audio sync issues with variable frame rate material. Transcode/convert your footage to a constant frame rate, using the free HandBrake software before importing and editing in Premiere Pro.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,
