changes to MASKS

in this new version of Premiere (currently in 26.3) all the masks function so differently.

I use a lot of masks in my documentary editing to crop archival photos and such and this new change is really throwing me off!!!  

All I need is a simple circle mask and it wants it make it oval anytime I adjust the size! the size does not adjust easily or proportionally, but rather creates a weird, wonky shape that’s useless. 

has anyone found a way to work with these new MASKS? what’s the deal?

    If you DOUBLE CLICK the mask you will switch between the two transform options of the mask.

    When you create a mask you have two options in which you can transform what that mask looks like.

    The first (and what is giving you difficulty) is the options of points, where when you drag a point it changes only the point you have selected and doesn’t change the rest of the mask.

    If you double click the mask you will switch to the second option which is where you drag a larger looking point of the mask, and other sides of the mask are also altered in corrospondence with how you adjust the point you have selected.
