If I understand it correctly, you are trying to split out separate audio sources from a final edit that you believe is mono ?. Is that correct ?

If it is a 'true mono' track then it would not be possible to separate out individual audio sources once a final mix edit has been done down to mono - as there is only one audio source available.

However, in some instances a Media file may contain other channels.

Use the media Info tool to inspect how many audio channels exist https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

in your file. Download appropriate install file for your PC or Mac.

See example text file attached from a video file from my Lumix S5II.. This has 4 audio channels.

Once dropped onto a Premiere timeline you can see the 4 sources split out. See screen snip.

Channels 1 & 2 are used , 3 and 4 have no audio.

I'm not sure what sources you have been given so far, please give us some  more information.

Have you tried dropping the edited track you have onto a Premiere timeline to see if it is only one audio channel?.

If it is true mono then you will need the original source project with the original separate audio sources to edit it.

If I have not understood your question correctly please advise.

Hi there,

Welcome to the community! Are you trying to isolate and split different elements (such as instruments or voices) from a single audio file and place each on a separate audio track, or do you already have these elements as separate audio files and simply want to place each on its own track in Premiere Pro?

Thanks,

Hi Sumeet,

Thanks for your reply

I have only the edit with no seperate audiotracks and i have to re-edit this.
I have to remove the voice over. It is part of my job and i work in a company where avid is leading but the majority of the correspondents work in adobe.  I ve to re-edit the reports of correspondents and remove the voice over .

i can ask to be sent the whole project so i can get the seperate audiofiles.
in the end  i want seperate audiotracks for quotes and  gen noise.
but is that possible in premiere pro or do i need after effects?

thank you

Yes, Premiere Pro supports multiple audio and video tracks, allowing you to place individual elements on separate tracks. These tracks can then be edited on a clip-by-clip or track-based basis. You may refer to this video to learn how to create more tracks in Premiere Pro. Hope it helps. Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Sumeet
