Question

Changing length of a AE title in Premiere Pro but maintain duration of start/end animations

I have a template title (technically, a composition) that I've created in After Effects which I duplicate and simply update the text on the text layers. However the composition has in and out animations. If I use the rate stretch tool in Premiere Pro, this will change the duration of the animations, but I want those to always remain the same, but I want to be able to extend or reduce the time in between each time I re-use the composition.

Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it? Currently using the most recent versions of both PP and AE.

do you mean you want more pause time before and after? aka handles? if this is a dynamically linked composition (not motion graphic templates) then you should extend the duration in Ae and move the animation further in time. it will update in all the clips in premiere and allow you wiggle room. another option is in premiere cutting the frames you want to hold and right click "add frame hold"

Not exactly. The animation is on the text to appear and disappear, so it needs to be the start and end, not extra time before and after. The time it takes for the text to be read by the speaker varies, hence each title is a different length. Altering the duration of the comp from dynamic link will work for one, but not the rest.

I suppose cutting the the ends off and rate stretching the static text in the middle section is one option, would be nice if it was simply a case of grabbing the end of the clip in PP and adjusting the length though. For one or two this wouldn't be a problem, but I do several a week, so the extra cutting etc means it wastes a lot of time overall.

Is there a way to anchor the animation to the start and end?

What if you create in Pr time remapping keyframes that are parallel to the in out of the text animation?
