Changing workspace bar to my custom workspaces, without resetting on new projects?

I would like to change the bar at top containing workspaces to a new default organization containing my own custom workspaces.

This would ease my process a lot when starting new video projects.

How do I do this? Whenever I re-organize it and save my project, the ordering is gone when I open the project again, or when I create a new project.

I am facing the same issue. (man how I hate Adobe and PP these days, so many bugs, errors and slowdowns. Can't wait for a competitor to take over as marked leaders. With Adobes track records last few years that should hopefully not be long)

I found a workaround on this issue. I copied my saved workspaces to another location. Deleted the layout folder. And then pasted my custom workspaces back. My workspaces was placed in the overflow menu. However, by placing my custom workspaces in front and hiding the "standard" workplaces they do not change when I open premiere again. If you delete any of the "standard" workspaces the "workspaceConfig" file will reset the system. If they are hidden in the overflow menu they will not be reset.

My workspace bar reverts to default. I keep deleting the Learning workspace and it keeps returning overtime I open the project.

Yes that is what I keep experiencing as well. I haven't found a solution yet.

This has been an issue with this build for a small but select group of users. Congratulations! (I was one also .... )

See the folder tree trail in the navigation bar here?

Find that (or equivalent on Mac) and go into the Layouts folder with PrPro closed. Delete the entire folder.

Reboot the computer.

Relaunch PrPro, create your own custom workspaces again and save each as you're making it, then re-order. Close/relaunch, and see if it sticks. Oh, and  make sure "Import workspaces from projects" is un-selected.

Hi abmenzel,

Are you customizing the top bar like this?

  • Click on the arrow button (at the right of the top workspace bar).
  • Select Edit Workspaces.

  • Customize it according to your preference.

Yes that is the exact way I am customizing it. Once I have saved it the way I want it to be, the workspace bar adjusts accordingly. But when I save the project and re-open it (or open a new project) the re-ordering is lost completely. My customs workspaces are once again hidden in the overflow menu.

Not sure why it is like that.
